At Evans Midwest, we build machinery that helps manufacturers simplify processes without sacrificing precision. The CSXL Cutting Station is a good example of that philosophy in action. Designed with input from real production floors, this system brings angle flexibility, integrated routing, and practical dust control into one streamlined setup.
Why We Built It This Way
On the production floor, small inefficiencies add up—angles just slightly off, draw bolt pockets routed a few millimeters out, dust clouding visibility, or settling where it shouldn’t. We’ve spent time in those environments, watching operators work around equipment limitations instead of working with them. That’s what drove the development of the CSXL Cutting Station.
We saw how inconsistent miter accuracy can throw off seam alignment, leading to longer installs and more rework. We noted how manual or imprecise bolt routing weakened joint strength, especially where field-fit precision is non-negotiable. Dust, always a given in this kind of work, isn’t just a nuisance—it is a threat to machine health and operator safety. And when machines don’t adapt to the job—whether that is a short part, an awkward angle, or just the pace of production—it isn’t just productivity that suffers, but morale.
The CSXL Cutting Station was our response: not just a machine, but a system designed around those real-world issues. It brings flexibility to angle cutting, consistency to pocket routing, effective dust control, and operational ease—all in service of making postform production more predictable, more precise, and less prone to the workarounds that slow things down.
What the CSXL Offers
Adaptable Mitering

Traditional saws lock operators into fixed angles. The CSXL’s Infinite Miter Kit changes that by allowing clamping anywhere along the arc and providing a digital angle readout This allows for the flexibility to tackle a wide range of custom orders without needing constant recalibration.
Laser Line Guidance

We included a laser alignment system because visual confirmation matters in production environments. Whether an operator is setting up a new job or double-checking an angle before the cut, the laser adds a layer of assurance.
Speed on Your Terms
Production needs vary, so the saw carriage on the CSXL features a variable-speed traverse. Operators can adjust the cutting pace based on the material, tooling, or throughput requirements—there is no need to force a one-size-fits-all setting.
Integrated Routing

Miter joints are only part of the story. The CSXL includes four routers beneath the work surface that cut the draw bolt pockets directly into the underside of the top—ready for field installation. This removes the need for a separate routing station, saving time and floor space.
Dust Management That Works

Dust is inevitable—but it doesn’t need to be disruptive. The CSXL comes standard with three dust ports. With the dust manifold kit, those can be consolidated into a single 8” port and an optional accordion-style dust baffle follows the saw carriage to contain debris as it moves. It’s a simple solution that keeps the shop environment healthier and cleaner.
Built for Real Workflows
The CSXL isn’t a rigid system. We’ve made it flexible enough to adapt to each operation with specific add-ons to enhance the user experience and efficiencies:
- Add a TigerStop for automatic part positioning.
- Use the short part kit for more stability on smaller sections.
- Install backsplash clamps to keep parts secure during tight cuts.
- Configure infeed and outfeed conveyors to suit the layout.
These options aren’t bells and whistles—they’re ways to make sure the saw works with a production team, not against it.
What We’ve Learned
Every time we build a machine, we consider the person who will run it. The CSXL Cutting Station reflects what we’ve learned from our partners in the countertop manufacturing world: that flexibility, reliability, and clean operation matter just as much as cutting power.
This isn’t a machine you work around—it’s one that works with you.
